Crazy Horse Paris

In May 19th 1951, Alain Bernardin opens Le Crazy Horse. An avant-garde artist, and passionate admirer of women, he was fascinated by the United States and driven by a single idea: to make artistic creation and women the focus of his club. At that time it featured a succession of racy burlesque routines interspersed with musical or humorous interludes from variety artists. Charles Aznavour had his first break here ...

Le Crazy Horse was originally a Right Bank wine cellar. Customers came for a drink and to admire Rita Renoir, Poupée la Rose, Bertha Von Paraboum, Lova Moor or Rosa Fumetto. Seated at little tables or standing at the bar, its location played an important role in the incomparable atmosphere at 12, avenue George V. In 1989, date of the last refurbishment, Alain Bernardin made Le Crazy into a tiny theatre with raked seating. Completely renovated in 2007, the new Crazy is even more convivial. At the centre of the audience area, chairs are once more placed around small tables to create an intimate and friendly atmosphere. On each side, comfortable banquettes enable the audience to enjoy the show in the best possible conditions. At the back, VIP boxes are reserved for special visitors. Everyone can see and enjoy the show, as a couple or with friends: getting together and discussing the show in a way which was difficult previously. The new theatre is still red, lined with velvet, with lacquered wood and mirrors, and has been designed to be modular. The aim was to be able to respond to all types of requirement, including businesses organizing private events. An event at Le Crazy can now easily be preceded by a cocktail party or a dinner and continue on with dancing. The Crazy ambition is to provide different evening experiences…
